Health Care Bill Passes House

Despite millions of dollars of lobbyist bribes paid out to congress, Pelosi managed to get a bill through the house that completely changes health care in America. The bill is quite flawed, yet it is still a game changer.

The flaws in this bill can easily be repaired in the years to come. Once Americans start to see the benefits of government supported health care, the public will be solidly behind revisions and updates to remove provisions added by the obstructionists.

Many democrats voted against the bill. That's the way it should be. Congress is elected to represent the will of their districts. That does not include republican congressmen. They are elected to represent the will of Rush Limbaugh and the southern trailer trash racists who listen to the miscreant asshole. Republicans do not vote the will of their districts. They vote the way they are told to vote, like the little fascist brown shirts that they are.

The next big challenge is to get the bill through the senate. Being a much smaller body, it is much more susceptible to being bribed. Watch for a full court press to swing into action to insure that corporations prevail over We The People.

Hate Crime Legislation Signed

The republican fight against hate crime legislation has failed. The racists and bigots who control the GOP wanted to preserve their right to oppress those who do not conform to their idea of "normal".

The tired old argument they used was that you cannot convict someone for a crime that is based on what they were thinking. Bullshit!

Many crimes are already based on what the perpetrator was thinking at the time. 
 

For example: 

A. Bubba is sitting at the kitchen table in his trailer. drinking a few brews and cleaning his AR-15 assault rifle when, BLAM, it goes off mortally wounding Bubba Jr. who was in the bathroom masturbating. Bubba naturally goes free because it was an accident, he has no intention of sending Bubba Jr. to meet his maker.

B. Bubba is sitting at the kitchen table in his trailer. drinking a few brews and cleaning his AR-15 assault rifle when he needs to take a leak. He opens the bathroom door and discovers Bubba Jr. whacking his weasel. Bubba is outraged because he knows that God hates weasel whackers so he gets his assault rifle and shoots the little bastard dead. 

Now Bubba Jr. is just as dead in either case, but what thoughts were slogging slowly through Bubba's brain makes the big difference.

Obama gets the peace prize

I wonder if the poor kid on the litter thinks Obama should get the PEACE prize. 

We should be removing our troops right now. Instead, what is on the table is "status quo" vs "escalation". That is a war president, not a peace president.

Obama is afraid of going into the elections where the war mongers will label him as the guy who lost the war. To avoid this he sends our kids over to that hell hole to die. Nothing good for America will ever come of our involvement in Afghanistan.

So, Verla Sue is trying a capital murder case. At the same time, the district attorney, who is prosecuting said capital murder case, is spending his leisure time pulling down Verla Sue's knickers.

  

Now, whoever is doing Verla Sue is none of my business, but you would think it may shade any decisions she might make in this capital murder case when she is fucking the prosecutor.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals thinks otherwise. They have ruled that Verla Sue is quite capable of boinking prosecutors and still be able make unbiased decisions.

My great fear is that this is going to unleash a giant wave of prosecutor/judge lust and it brings a whole new meaning to "We will take this up in my chambers".

Harry Reid - If only he had some courage

 

Where is the Senate majority "Leader" in the health care battle? Why, he is staying as far away from the battle as he can. Like Obama, Reid lacks the courage to stand up to the republicans and conservative democrats. 

The majority leader has the power to make life very uncomfortable for renegade democrats. The fact that he is doing nothing tells us that his heart is not in bringing affordable health care to all Americans. It tells us that Harry Reid is either, not a leader, or bought by the groups who oppose the legislation.

Obama - The hands-off president

 

Barack Obama has been absent when it comes to leadership. He has used the hands-off approach. He tells congress the outline of what he wants, then leaves it up to them to write the legislation. That is a very safe way to do things. All of the blame falls on others. It is also NOT leadership. It assures that we will get legislation crafted by lobbyists. You are not a leader if you don't put your balls on the line.

We would not be faced with this disarray in the health care battle if Obama was a leader. He should have gone to congress and said, "This is what I want and I'll be kicking ass if I don't get it." Instead, we have dozens of different plans in the fray and absolutely nobody is leading the fight. 

Mr. President, if you want to be the leader, then get your butt out in the front. Oh yeah, one more thing. Kick Rahm Emanuel in the nuts and tell him he is not here to design a package that is suitable to Pharma and the insurance companies.  

Obama needs to realize that democratic congressmen are paralyzed by fear of the republicans and only he can take charge.

Republicans demand that legislation be watered down to make it more palatable to fascists. The chickenshit democrats acquiesce and then the republicans vote against it anyway. 

We need a president who can lead and we need democrats with a spine.

Racist Sessions questions Sotomayor ties to terrorism

Senator Jeff Sessions, the minority head of the Judiciary Committee, has questioned whether or not Judge Sotomayor would be soft on terrorism. That is due to the position a group she belongs to took, 19 years ago, on a crime that took place 34 years ago. The racist republicans are digging deep trying to find any way possible to stop the confirmation of a Hispanic woman to the Supreme Court.

You will remember that Jeff Sessions was once denied a seat on the federal bench due to his past ties with racist organizations and his own racist statements.

The republican tactics make me question the sanity of the party. They are so adamant about challenging Obama at every turn that they miss a golden opportunity to change the image of their party in the Hispanic community. If they had come out right away in support of Sotomayor, who is certain to be confirmed anyway, they would have seemed, well, sane. Instead, they look like a pack of redneck, trailer trash racists.

I guess the GOP feels it is more important to appeal to their base, America's cousin fuckers.

Iran sliding left?

The most interesting thing about the turmoil in Iran is that it was done without the vile hand of our CIA and without any neocon bombing from the US or Israel.

Even if the clerics prevail, and they will, the seed is planted. Iran will not change over this election but the die is cast. Do not be surprised if the mullahs cancel the next election for fear of losing. The Shiites have never been as radical as the Arab Sunnis. The turning of Iran into a theocracy was 100% the fault of this country and the CIA in particular. We supported a brutal dictator because he was more than friendly with US oil interests.

Of course liberalization in an Islamic country may mean nothing more than that a few women can get away with going bare headed without risking a beating. That will never happen in the scumbag country of Saudi Arabia.

Conservatives are outraged that Obama is not jumping into the fray. Hear this dirt bags, you are asking for the kind of diplomacy that was rejected in the last elections. You lost. It would be awfully nice if you just acknowledged that you are a bunch of losers and shut the fuck up.

Supreme Court Fascists deny rights

The fascist wing of the Supreme Court banded together to further reduce the rights of the non-corporate world.

The court decided that even if there is evidence that could exonerate you, such as DNA, the state has every right to prevent you from examining that evidence. We must hope that, based on this logic, they do not reopen school segregation cases.

It isn't surprising since all of these swine, especially Roberts, have always voted to enhance corporate rights while diminishing the rights of the commoners. Robert's record is a pure 100% when it comes to favoring the interest of the government or the corporate world over you stupid working pukes.

We can only hope that, in the coming years, Obama has the opportunity to replace one of these five vermin. Not that I would wish ill health on any of them, but but but but. On second thought, a stroke would be nice. And Clarence Thomas is pretty fat. No. Stop it. You cannot wish for Clarence Thomas to have a stroke. OK dicks, here is the deal. If Obama comes down against the current regime, they will use that interference as an excuse to use full blown military force against the dissenters. Also, the president of Iran is little more than a figurehead with absolute power held by Supreme Leader Khamenei and the mullahs, so you cannot expect much change from either candidate.

I realize that, as republicans, you tend to be reactionary and act without thinking, but those days are gone so it would be best if you just shut the fuck up.

John Ensign - hypocrite asshole

John Ensign (r.adulterer) has just admitted that he has spent the past year sticking his weenie into the wife of an employee. I'd say that was none of our business except that John Ensign is a hypocritical little asshole who has come down hard on the sexual transgressions of others. Yes, this holier than thou, lifetime member of the Promise Keepers, an organization dedicated to marital fidelity, has admitted that he has been fucking the wife of one of his employees.

Has Obama failed liberals?

I'm very disappointed in the Obama presidency so far.

1. We still have two wars raging.
2. None of the war criminals are going to be prosecuted.
3. The US is still operating a gulag at Guantanamo.
4. Gay issues are largely being ignored.
5. Government is still keeping too many secrets.
6. The economy is only improving for the investor class.
7. Single payer health insurance is never going to happen.
8. Where are the jobs?
9. Banksters have gotten away scott free with the nations wealth.
10. The Patriot Act is still being used to suppress civil rights.
11. The Bush team is still running Justice and the CIA.
12. Big Oil and the Arabs are still being allowed to plunder the economy.

Actually, for the most part, Obama is giving the country exactly what he promised in the campaign. A moderate, down the middle government. Most of those things on the liberal wish list were not promised during the campaign. Those of us on the left made the mistake of thinking that when democrats controlled the government, a progressive agenda would naturally follow.

Just because liberals expected more than we got doesn't make me any less pissed off at the democrats. We got a big change with Obama, but we would have gotten a big change from any new president with an IQ surpassing 86. We did not get a progressive president when we elected this one.

Republicans would probably be praising the Obama administration if he were only a white man.

Right wing terrorists

The republicans went berserk after Homeland Security warned about the growth of home grown right wing terrorists. Why, that was just a liberal smear of the republican party.

Since then we have had a right wing terrorist killing of a doctor, a right wing terrorist rampage at the Holocaust Museum and now the heads of the terroristic Minutemen have been arrested for the murder of a Hispanic family. You remember the Minutemen. They are the racists who vowed to defend the US border against the Mexican invaders. They have been widely supported by racist Lou Dobbs and the republicans base.

It seems that these right wing terrorists are largely invisible to the FBI.

Corporations bribing congress

Here in Texas, our Texas Supreme Court is somewhat famous for always ruling in favor of the entity that gave them the largest amount of campaign "contributions". How is that not a bribe?

Here soon, the public option for health care is going to go down in flames. It's not going to fail because the people of this country want it to fail. It is going to fail because corporations who profit from the current system want it to fail and they have bribed your elected officials to ensure that it fails.

I propose a very simple law to end the bribes.

Any elected official who casts a vote that favors a corporate contributor shall be guilty of felony bribery and face a prison sentence of not less than ten years.

If you get money from the coal industry and a vote comes up that would help the coal industry, you would have two choices. Abstain or go to prison. That would instantly dry up corporate interference and elections would finally be publicly funded.

Of course the problem with such a law is that it would have to be passed by the very people who are taking the bribes. Catch 22.

Sarah Palin vs. David Letterman

David Letterman made a joke on his show about Sarah Palin's daughter getting knocked up by Alex Rodriguez during her recent outing to a baseball game.

Palin said it was an insult, not just to her daughter, but to horny girls everywhere.

How to kill public health care

The public wants a comprehensive single payer health care plan.

Who doesn't? Republicans don't, because too many corporations are getting rich off of the current plan and republicans ALWAYS favor corporations over people.

Who else? Democrats, who are taking huge bribes from the health care industry, don't want a public option because they have been paid to oppose it. They prefer the dollars to the well being of us commoners.

So here is the problem facing democrats; how do you kill it and not get any blame? That's pretty easy, actually. First Obama will favor the plan. Now he's off the hook when it fails. He can say, well I tried. The democrats will use blue dogs in safe states to finish it off. Now we all know that Harry Reid could whip these guys into line by threatening to make their states pay in future legislation if they don't join in to pass the bill. And that is exactly what he would do, if he really wanted a single payer plan. But he doesn't want it and it is not going to pass. Now all the rest of the democrats, who want to kill single payer, can vote for it while knowing it is merely a show vote.

They all walk away with pockets stuffed with lobbyist dollars and you, my friend, just got fucked by the very people you elected for change.

Obama stimulates Five Guys

I think that Obama needs to be concentrating more on creating jobs. Last week he did just that for Five Guys Burgers. After the president's well publicized burger run, Five Guys was forced to hire 25 new employees, just to fill the added demand.

On the other hand, former Vice President Cheney's visit to Bucket of Bile Restaurant has had little effect on sales at that establishment.

Lieberman joins GOP, again.

Joe Lieberman has, once again, joined up with the GOP to threaten democrats. Lieberman and Lindsay Graham have vowed to shut down the senate if the torture photos are not hidden from the American people. Each time there is a difficult choice, Lieberman always seems to come down on the side of fascism. Unfortunately they have been joined by the Obama administration.

How to censor the news

I worked for a newspaper years ago. I was in the editors office when a story came across the wire about a major grocery chain that reflected very badly on that company. The editor tore the story off, read it, then tossed it in the trash. I was very surprised. I said the story was a big deal and asked why he wasn't going to run it. He said it was because they were a major advertiser. I reminded him that editorial was insulated from advertising. He replied that was correct. Nobody would chastise him for running the story. The advertiser would quickly pull all of their advertising. His next review would be poor and he would be fired for something completely unrelated to the story. No thanks, it goes in the trash.

If you have been wondering why you never see stories on the news about the horrible state of health care in America, pay attention to how many ads you see from companies who do not want health care reform.

Watch the ads that run on the news shows. They will tell you a lot about what news you are not getting.

Kent Conrad is the conservative democrat from North Dakota and is chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. Conrad has said that a national sales tax must be considered to help with the massive debt being run up because Obama saved the banks instead of saving the working people.

The value added tax, VAT, is absolutely the most regressive tax possible. It is a huge Reaganesque style tax that shifts the tax burden away from the wealthy and onto the backs of the poor bastard who is just trying to put food on his family. Democrats must stand up to this attempt to protect the aristocracy from paying for the mess that they created.

You should not be taxed a percentage of your income. You should be taxed on the percentage of the national wealth that you control. We cannot kill the aristocracy so we must tax them to death.

The republicans are already launching their attacks on Sonia Sotomayor who will eventually become the first Hispanic on the Supreme Court. They will run ads critical of Judge Sotomayor's rulings and public speeches, but make no mistake, what republicans hate most about the judge is that she is Hispanic. The past dozen years, republicans have shifted the focus of their hatred away from blacks and toward Hispanics.The GOP has become condensed into a southern redneck bigoted stew.

The good news is that the republican attacks on Sotomayor could deliver Texas and Arizona right into the hands of the democrats.

Become a conservative talk show host.

So. You want to be a conservative radio talk show host? There is a very simple formula that, if followed, will assure success.

Offer simplistic answers to complex questions. If you require your audience to engage in thought, you are lost. Your average listener wants to be comforted, not informed. They need to have their phobias affirmed, not erased.

Convince your listeners that you are the truth and the entire media complex has conspired to lie to them. You cannot use the term "liberal media" too often! If they start listening to news or reading the paper, you are lost. Maybe you could even insinuate that your ideas are divinely inspired

Prey on their fears. It is human nature to be afraid of things different. Ridicule black leaders, champion English only, sprinkle the phrase, "one-worlders", throughout your dialog. Right wingers think all welfare goes to lazy black people who don’t want to work. Same for criminals. Diatribes against welfare recipients are money in the bank. Use the word "agenda" liberally, it makes others ideas sound like a plot. i.e., Liberal agenda, Feminist agenda, One-worlder agenda, Socialist agenda. Always attack the leaders and institutions of liberalism, while carefully concealing your own bigotry. i.e. It is OK to attack Jessie Jackson, but NEVER reveal your hatred of all blacks. This is called republican speak. Same for women, Call feminist leaders some cute phrase like "femminazis", attack Hillary and Nancy, but never, never reveal that you feel emasculated by strong women.

When someone with an opposing view calls in, interrupt as often as possible, change the subject, then get rid of them as quickly as you can. After they are off the air, distort what they said, then ridicule them. Chastise your producer for not doing a better job of screening calls. If your caller doesn’t begin the conversation with some simple catch phrase to let you know he is in agreement with you, keep your finger on the cutoff button. Dittos would imply that you have an obedient unthinking follower on the line.

Constantly reinforce the idea that only you can provide the answers and ANYONE with another belief is the enemy. Conservatism is dependant on the idea, "You are either 100% with us or 100% against us".

Attack social programs relentlessly. Find the worst case of abuse you can and promulgate the worst-case as the norm. (See crime & welfare above).
